There is just something special about Arnold. He makes us feel happy, excited, motivated and willing to go through anything and never give up. Arnold will always be Numero Uno.
arnold’s proportions are what make him the greatest… what do i mean, well the length of his limbs/ torso, how his shoulders are set on his frame it makes his his body aesthetically pleasing to the judges/ viewer and that has nothing to do with training; it’s genetics. if you have a stumpy small frame, short arms, long abdomen you’re never going to look like that, sure you can try but you just can’t…. the guy was built for it, and not just through training but god!
Those complaining about the difference in how guys from Arnold’s era looked to guys of today must understand that NOTHING stays the same forever. Cars, houses, movies, drinks even animals change over time. That’s the way the world is. Had Bodybuilding stayed the same way it probably would be dead by now. Remember this; the only thing constant in life IS change. Twenty years from now bodybuilders would look even more different.
@killjoy777777777 Arnold’s proportions weren’t really perfect. 22 inch arms and 28.5 inch legs isn’t perfect I think he should have had 31 inch legs to be totally perfect.
@Goldenchild795 I think the win could have gone 3 ways between him Frank and Chris. I think he was good enough to pull off a win. Barely though. But what do you mean he screwed up the other competitors?
It wasn`t fair that Arnold competed into the 1980 Mr olympia.. He entered the show at the last minute and screwed up the other competitors.. He said he was going to retire after the 1975 Mr olympia, And he should have kept his word.. He didn`t need Bodybuilding anymore, His acting career was already taking off and the 1980 Mr Olympia was just a side show for him. He didn`t deserve to win anyway.. He won it on his name and fame, And that`s not right, Nor was it fair to the other guys.
not really,saying i felt Mentzer was better that year wasn’t taking away from Arnold,that was an opinion,an opinion i feel is true.others thought Mentzer was better that year as well.Arnold did indeed win,i just felt like Mentzer should have that year,just my honest opinion.
@SpinDoctor91 Well you are taking something away from Arnold. You just said “I felt Mentzer was better that year” thats trying to take Arnold’s win away.
@SpinDoctor91
maybe your right he should placed in the top 5 but i compared his bicep’s and chest to arnold and arnold for sure he blows him away in that area and to be honost he blows everybody away in that area so i think arnold really deserved it even though his not in his best shape
yes arnold trained hard and he deserved his Mr.O wins but i just felt Mentzer was better that year,not taking anything away from Arnold but i just felt that year went to Mentzer.although arnold was great to win coming out of bodybuilding retirement,but Mentzer was better that year i feel.i mean even if Mentzer didn’t when he should have placed WAY higher then 7,i mean,come on! he should have atleast been in the top 5 in my opinion.
guys like Flex Wheeler,Shawn Ray,etc should have won atleast ONE Olympia but didn’t.that’s my point,if the judges don’t like you for whatever reason,even if you clearly are the best there,you won’t win.
