Rulers or Chiefs

The Chief is the leader of the pack. He takes control of things, and slips into the role effortlessly. He’s confident and protective, but often emotionally unavailable and driven by his own goals.

Here are some of the Chief’s strengths:

- Sheer determination. When he sets his sights on something, he’ll obtain it come hell or high water. He will not be deterred.

- He’s responsible and dependable. Even if it means he has to sacrifice time with people he cares about.

- He’s a problem-solver. The Chief’s quick thinking and smarts enable him to be a fixer, and he does it single-handedly.

The Chief has a flaws, too.

- He’s determined, sometimes bordering on bullying. He knows he’s right and can’t stand fighting people on it. So he doesn’t. He dominates them instead.

- Sympathy isn’t one of his strong points. Neither is sentimentality. Either put up, or shut up. That’s his motto.

- He can be obstinate, and off-putting as a result. Stubborn is his middle name.

Check out some well-known Chiefs:

James Gandolfini

Mob boss and mega Chief Tony Soprano. Need we say more?

Jimmy Smits

Jimmy Smits is the perfect Chief in the new TV show, Cane.

Colin Firth

Fitzwilliam Darcy is ruled by his pride and his confidence. He’s arrogant, and yet so appealing.

 More Heroes We Love:

Matthew Fox plays Jack on the TV show ‘Lost’.  Jack is part Chief/part Lost Soul.  Everyone looks to him for answers he doesn’t always have.  Matthew plays the role to perfection.  Gotta love ‘Lost’ whenever Jack’s around.  I know I’d feel safe on his Island.
